The Suncoast opened in 2000, but the Boyd Gaming hotel-casino is essentially brand new as it nears completion of a major multiyear renovation project.
“It’s a top to bottom modernization of the entire property,” Boyd Gaming spokesperson David Strow said during a walk through the upgraded casino. “The design had just become out of date. It was a darker design and we wanted to open it up and make it lighter.
“Brighter, lighter — that’s the direction that casino design is heading. ”
The Summerlin-area resort started the property-wide transformation, which was completed in sections, in late 2023 when it opened a new high-limit slot room.
