Celine Dion is the rare Las Vegas resident setting residency records outside Las Vegas.
The city’s “Queen of Residencies” is bigger than ever at the box office. Dion has established a record for highest per-show gross for her run at Plentitude Arena in Paris.
According to industry trade publication Billboard, Dion’s 16 shows have averaged about $7.8 million per night, $125.5 million overall, surpassing U2’s Sphere residency. The Irish rockers averaged $6.1 million per show.
Dion’s comeback series has averaged 33,700 spectators per night, about double the per-show attendance records for concert residencies (Sphere’s capacity for a headlining show is about 17,500).
Formerly La Défense Arena, the Paris venue is the largest indoor concert arena in Europe. For perspective, these numbers are about what Dion would produce if she were to sell out Allegiant Stadium (in its concert configuration) for 16 shows. Or, pack Sphere for 30 shows.
