The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is investigating an incident in which glass fell from the exterior of the building on Wednesday, the hotel said in a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Social media users had reported glass falling onto Las Vegas Boulevard on Wednesday.

The hotel said the affected area was immediately cordoned off and reiterated that the safety of guests and employees remained a top priority.

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a resort two decades in the making, opened in December 2023. It broke ground in 2007, but the project was abandoned during the 2009 financial crisis.

Its ownership changed hands several times over the years, returning back to Fontainebleau Development CEO Jeffrey Soffer and partners in the Kansas conglomerate Koch Industries’ real estate wing in February 2021.
