Mass deportations of undocumented workers and workplace raids at Las Vegas casinos appear unlikely, according to industry experts and union leaders.
The hospitality industry is a crucial part of Nevada’s economy. A recent report commissioned by the Nevada Resort Association revealed that the gaming industry provides more than 386,000 direct and indirect jobs statewide, accounting for 27% of the state’s total workforce.
Casinos contribute over $21 billion in salary payments and more than 35% of Nevada’s general fund revenue.
Despite discussions about mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, casino operators remain relatively unconcerned.
