Kentucky’s top two GOP leaders from the House and Senate remain divided on sports betting’s prospects.
Speaker of the House David Osborne and Senate President Robert Stivers both appeared Monday on a panel for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Preview Conference in Lexington.
The moderator, chamber CEO Ashli Watts, noted the issue’s champion, Rep. Adam Koenig, was defeated in a Republican primary earlier this year and asked the two lawmakers who will take up the cause.
“I don’t know if a champion as such has come to the front, but it’s going to be an issue that continues to get discussion,” Osborne said.
