Jake Paul’s micro-betting app Betr begins accepting real-money wagers

Micro-betting app Betr accepted its first real money wagers in Ohio on Friday, adding account deposits and withdrawals to what was a free-to-play game at launch. The transition to real-money betting comes one year after the company’s creation by Simplebet co-founder Joey Levy and social media influencer turned fighter Jake Paul, an accomplishment it is hailing as the fastest ever in the U.S. legalized market. The company said the previous fastest-to-market was Circa Sports, which took 13 months. Offered in all states as a free-to-play contest, Betr allows users to wager on individual events during a game, such as the outcome of a possession in basketball or play in football.
