The Q Casino & Resort in Dubuque is preparing for competition from the Cedar Crossing Casino, which is less than a month from opening day.
The opening is shaking up the gaming landscape in eastern Iowa.

Q Casino & Resort CEO Anthony Williams points to $83 million in investments to grow the amenities beyond gaming on Chaplain Schmitt Island in the Mississippi River. That includes the Key Hotel and its rooftop restaurant, Lock 11, and the new Back Waters Amp, an entertainment venue that can hold 8,000 people.
