A suspected NBA gambling ring is currently under federal investigation for illegal wagering activity that includes bets on at least three men’s college basketball programs this season.
The investigation is part of the same inquiry that uncovered illegal betting involving Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter, who admitted to manipulating his performance during games for gambling purposes during the 2023-24 NBA season, as well as former Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier.
Sportsbook accounts linked to the gambling ring placed large prop bet wagers involving Porter and Rozier and also bet against Eastern Michigan, Mississippi Valley State, and North Carolina A&T.
Three North Carolina A&T players were suspended indefinitely last week for violating team rules, although there’s no word on whether this was connected to gambling allegations.
