Indiana has banned sweepstakes casinos after House Bill 1052 was signed into law by Governor Mike Braun. The ban comes into effect on July 1st, 2026. With HB 1052 enacted, Indiana becomes the first state to ban sweepstakes casinos in 2026, building on the nationwide crackdown that occurred last year, with states like California also banning these platforms.

Major sweepstakes casino platforms have yet to outline how they plan to respond to Indiana’s newly enacted restrictions, though updates are expected in the coming months.

For now, several well-known sites, including Chumba Casino, Stake.us, and High 5 Casino, still accept players in Indiana, but they have until July 1st to cease operations.
