Illinois resident Mark Aiello has lost his appeal against the Illinois Gaming Board over BetMGM’s decision to void his bets, which would have won him US$389,000.

In March, Aiello placed various bets on a Chicago Bulls game where he correctly predicted the rebound and assist totals of individual players. However, BetMGM voided the bets prior to the game due to errors of incorrect or inflated odds.

“What probably happened is they had a glitch,” gaming consultant and attorney Elihu Feustel explained to CBS News Chicago. Feustel is known for authoring books on how to win at gambling but understands why the bets were voided.
