A partisan Democratic bill in the Illinois House would amend the state’s lottery law and set new regulations for gambling with credit cards.
Sponsored by Reps. Curtis Tarver and Marti Deuter in the Chicago area, HB 4149 would prohibit the use of credit cards in a gambling game and would not allow ATMs located within the casino to distribute cash advances on credit cards.
Additionally, the bill would prohibit “a person from selling a lottery ticket or share on a credit basis.”
“No person shall sell a ticket or share at a price greater than that fixed by rule or regulation of the Department,” the language of the bill reads.
