The Illinois Gaming Board reported $137 million in adjusted gross revenue from casino gaming in April, with Bally’s temporary venue in downtown Chicago having a slight downturn from March.

The Bally’s casino at Medinah Temple in the River North neighborhood of the city reported $10.4 million in AGR, down from its peak of $11.1 million in March.

While Bally’s revenue for the 2024 calendar year moved above $40 million, the $4.1 million in local taxes for the City of Chicago generated thus far is tracking to be well below the $35 million projected in mayor Brandon Johnson’s budget for this year.

Bally’s is expected to break ground to build its $1.8 billion casino at the Tribune Publishing Plant in River West this summer, with the opening date expected to be September 2026.
