The Aurora City Council will hold a public hearing Dec. 12 on the tax increment financing district proposed for the Hollywood Casino-Aurora property on Farnsworth Avenue.

Enacting the TIF district is one of the last steps the city has to fulfill the redevelopment agreement it approved with Penn Entertainment, Hollywood Casino’s parent company, in late 2022.
Under the agreement, the city said it would give the casino $50 million up front toward its $360 million Hollywood Casino resort to be built at Farnsworth Avenue and Bilter Road, across the street from Chicago Premium Outlets mall and near the Interstate 88 interchange.
