Six months into 2024, Ohio’s casinos and racinos are within a rounding error of record-breaking revenue they reported in 2023.
Through June, the state’s 11 casinos and racinos reported $1.2 billion in gambling revenue, according to data compiled from Casino and Lottery commission reports. They were also at $1.2 billion at the halfway point of 2023, but this 2024’s total is about $4 million less.
The casinos and racinos brought in a combined $2.38 billion in 2023. The gambling houses have broken the yearly record every year since they started existing in 2012 except in 2020, a year plagued by COVID-19 shutdowns. They’ve kept revenue up year-over-year despite 2021′s hot streak.
