Employees at Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing and Casino have voted to unionize. Teamsters announced the employees’ decision in a post on X Sunday morning. The casino workers’ vote allowed them to join Teamsters Local 135, which will represent them in future labor negotiations.

Caesars Entertainment is the entity that owns the Horseshoe Casino and will thus be the party that bargains with the union in the future.

Casino workers gathered outside the casino for a demonstration on Oct. 14. Three days later, they officially launched a strike.

The casino employees’ vote to unionize was delayed by the recent federal government shutdown, as the National Labor Relations Board oversees unionization elections.
