Harrah’s Philadelphia was slapped with a $35,000 fine by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Wednesday for allowing underage gambling. The action came in a meeting where the regulator also approved the racetrack-casino’s request to “right-size” its gaming floor by reducing its number of slots and table games.

The separate votes regarding the suburban Philadelphia venue came at the monthly meeting of the PGCB, where the only question from the board concerning the underage gambling was to confirm that a certain couch had been removed.

Security staff at casino entrances in Pennsylvania are expected to verify ages and deny access to anyone below the legal age of 21 to gamble, although there can also be other parts of the property where those under 21 are permitted, such as areas connected to horse racing.
