An Atlantic City casino may be without an important summer amenity if beach sand lost to a rash of winter storms is not replaced, its executives said.

Hard Rock Atlantic City General Manager Mike Sampson said the casino’s beach bar suffered significant damage during the Jersey Shore’s shoulder season. During a meeting for Clean and Safe Atlantic City, a community initiative led by Councilman Kalem Shabazz, Sampson said emergency repairs are needed if Hard Rock is to treat guests on the beach this summer.

“If we don’t get some action taken very, very quickly, this looks like this is going to be a post-summer project, and we will not be able to resume the same type of beach operations that we had in the past,” Sampson said.
