The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a ruling Tuesday confirming the trust status for the Scotts Valley Tribe planning on building a proposed 400,000-square foot casino in Vallejo.

The ruling comes on the motion for a preliminary injunction filed by the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians in its ongoing litigation regarding the Department of the Interior’s recent suspension of its January gaming eligibility determination for the Tribe’s trust land in Vallejo.

While the court declined to issue interim relief at this stage, it emphasized that it intends to resolve the case on the merits expeditiously. The court also confirmed that the Tribe’s Vallejo property remains in federal trust.
