More than half of the 20 Premier League clubs are involved in an almighty scramble to find new shirt sponsors for next season as they will no longer be allowed to have gambling companies.

This season 11 top-flight clubs have gambling sponsors on the front of their match-day shirts and for many of them finding a replacement willing to pay the same sum is proving impossible, especially with such intense competition.

The Premier League clubs agreed to a voluntary ban on shirt sponsorship by gambling companies nearly three years ago, to avoid government legislation prohibiting it, though sleeve deals will still be permitted.
