State Rep. Dan Frankel, of the 23rd Legislative District, is garnering support for a bipartisan bill to amend Pennsylvania’s Clean Indoor Air Act, aimed at enforcing a smoking ban in casinos.
Currently, casinos are exempt from smoking bans, but that would change under new legislation, in large part due to the complaints and concerns of employees at Rivers Casino who breathe second-hand smoke.
A coalition of casino workers fighting for the smoking ban started in Atlantic City and has since spread to other states under the name CEASE (Casino Employees Against Smoke Effects).
Employees at Rivers Casino have joined the coalition.
