Following reports on Monday that online gaming giant DigiPlus Interactive Corp is in talks to acquire a second hotel located directly alongside LaVie Resort & Casino with ambitions of creating a comprehensive casino precinct, the company has confirmed its expansion ambitions.
DigiPlus said in a Tuesday filing that it is “exploring opportunities to expand into adjacent and complementary segments, aligned with its long-term strategy to develop a robust gaming and digital entertainment ecosystem. ”
It added, however, that “these plans remain under evaluation and no definitive transactions have been made. ”
Local media outlet InsiderPH reported earlier this week that DigiPlus was in discussions with San Miguel Corp Chairman and CEO Ramon S Ang about acquiring his Diamond Hotel Philippines in Malate, Manila, which currently connects to LaVie via a roof bridge.
