The Caesars Virginia casino resort has been in the works for over four years and as it inches closer to opening, it’s expected to bring in millions of dollars to the city.
The partial opening is finally expected by July and with it will be $12.1M in additional revenue.
The new city budget proposal recommends spending some of the new money on schools and economic development initiatives.
City Manager Ken Larking said this is a big deal. “I’m excited about the fact that we are going, as a community we have — we are going to use this opportunity to help better the lives of the people who live in Danville,” Larking said.
