It can be intimidating to join strangers at a poker table when one has never played before. Foxwoods Resort Casino has found a way around that.

One often unknown option is the reservation of tables for groups, allowing friends to learn together without the pressure of competing against strangers. Terry Chiaradio, the director of poker operations at Foxwoods, said this option is often used for celebrations such as bachelor and bachelorette parties.

“They come in as a group so they feel more comfortable, surrounded by friends, and can reserve a table for themselves without the intimidation of other players,” Chiaradio explained.
