Macau’s gross gaming revenue is estimated to have reached MOP$6.6 billion (US$816 million) in the first nine days of August, representing a daily run-rate of MOP$733 million (US$90.6 million) according to information from Citigroup.
This, the investment bank said, was 12% higher than the GGR run-rate in July and 3% higher than in August 2025.
In a Monday note, Citi’s George Choi and Timothy Chau said VIP volumes appeared to have risen by between 12% and 15% with above normal hold, while mass GGR rose by 10% to 12%, based on industry sources.
“We are encouraged by the sequential GGR run-rate recovery, likely driven by pent-up demand and major concerts thus far this month,” they said.
