The City of Chicago has put out a request for qualifications to find respondents who would serve as gaming consulting advisors to the office of Mayor Brandon Johnson in the third-largest city in the United States.
It’s the latest sign Chicago may add video gaming terminals, known as VGTs, as a potential gaming option for city residents.
The slot-like games are currently banned via city ordinance, but there’s currently a bill in state legislature filed by Illinois Rep. and one-time Chicago mayoral candidate Kam Buckner that would provide a path for potential licensees by amending the state’s Video Gaming Act.
