A top Bally’s executive Thursday said the company’s long-awaited Chicago casino will open on time in early 2027 despite reports of financial issues.
It comes after the company issued a warning to its investors earlier this week that finances were perilously close to threatening the company’s ability to cover its debts with cash-on-hand.
Amid all of this, Chicago Council members are preparing hearings early next month to get answers as to the status of the project, especially after Bally’s argued that a recent decision to legalize video gaming terminals (VGT) could put things in jeopardy.
After that argument, Bally’s halted construction on its casino tower in River West earlier this month, blaming the city’s decision.
