Advocates for no-smoking policies in casinos are watching as shareholder votes approach for Wynn Resorts, Boyd Gaming, Caesars Entertainment and Penn Entertainment.
A Monday news release from the American Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation (ANRF) said votes are expected beginning April 30 and continuing into May and June. ANRF and Trinity Health have filed shareholder resolutions calling on casino companies to study the economic benefits to implementing smokefree policies.
Currently, Park MGM is the only smoke-free casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The policy extends to the entire resort. It’s owned by MGM Resorts International, which isn’t one of the corporations where votes are anticipated.
