Status on a proposed 400,000 square foot casino project in Vallejo remains unclear this week after the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and the Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation filed an amicus brief Friday in the in the case of Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians v. Douglas Burgum.

“We have long advocated for a fair, transparent, fact-based review of Scotts Valley’s proposed project,” said Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Chairman Anthony Roberts on Monday.

“We are confident that the evidentiary record will show that Scotts Valley’s claims to Vallejo are hollow. These are not their lands, and they never were. We look forward to an expeditious and fair decision based on the facts.”
