A husband and wife duo were arrested for an alleged embezzlement scheme that stole hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of gaming chips from a San Jose casino, the San Jose Police Department announced Wednesday.
San Jose police investigators responded to the report of suspected embezzlement at a local casino on May 23. Detectives learned that between May 1 and May 22, a woman employed at the business, identified as 38-year-old Ellen Mangundayao, was embezzling gaming chips, SJPD said.
According to authorities, the employee would give stolen chips to her husband, identified as 41-year-old Mark Mangundayao, for him to cash out.
