Somone communicated a bomb threat to the Grand island Casino Resort Sunday over the casino’s security communication system. Police are still investigating the threat, which came in at about 5:45 p.m.

The investigation is being done with the casino’s help, because the bomb threat wasn’t phoned in.

“It was broadcast over their security radio channel. So somebody got ahold of either one of their security radios or somehow tapped in to their security radio and just talked across to it,” said Division Chief Dean Elliott of the Grand Island Police Department.

Casino staff are trying to “account for all of their radios that have the security channel on it to make sure that they’re all accounted for,” Elliott said.
