Yet another National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) conference is partnering with U.S. Integrity (USI) to help mitigate sports betting among student-athletes.
This time, the Big Ten Conference is enhancing its monitoring efforts to help prevent student-athletes, coaches and staff from engaging in prohibited sports wagering. In addition, the conference announced it will debut a gameday student-athlete availability report for all football competitions during the 2023 season.
The Big Ten joins the Big 12 Conference in instituting monitoring software and tools to prevent illegal sports bets. Earlier this year, 15 student-athletes and two student managers associated with Iowa college athletics were charged in connection to an investigation into unlawful sports betting.
