The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has suspended Star Entertainment Group from trading after the company missed a critical deadline to submit its financial results.

The ASX announced on Monday it was suspending trading of the group’s shares due to its inability to disclose full-year financial performance for the year ended June 30.

In a statement, the exchange said: “The securities of (The Star) will be suspended from quotation from the commencement of trading… for not lodging the relevant periodic report by the due date.”

Star Entertainment had been scheduled to post financial accounts on Friday – the last day of reporting – but said it required more time to assess fallout from a report on corporate culture.
