Dealing blackjack with unshuffled cards and letting patrons alter bets that were already in play has led to a $10,750 penalty for Ocean Casino Resort.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement imposed the penalty June 26 and made it public on its website Wednesday.
Ocean declined to comment on the incidents.
On June 15, 2024, a dealer at Ocean failed to shuffle cards at a blackjack table and then continuously dealt 25 hands of play with the unshuffled cards.
After the completion of a round of play, the dealer placed cards from the discard rack in the automatic shuffler but failed to start the automatic shuffler. The dealer then removed the unshuffled cards from the automatic shuffler and dealt 25 hands with the unshuffled cards before Ocean personnel discovered the error.
