Someone has purchased the former Trump Plaza casino site on the Boardwalk, Mayor Marty Small Sr. said Monday.

Speaking on the nationally syndicated radio show “The Breakfast Club,” Small would not identify the purchaser.

“One of the most powerful people in the state of New Jersey has purchased the Trump Plaza property, them and their people,” Small said. “I can’t name them; I’ll let them make the announcement.”

In an interview later in the day, Small again refused to identify the purchaser but said the sale was recently completed. “It’s a done deal,” he said. “I wasn’t at the table when they did it, but they tell me it’s a done deal.”
