Arizona Department of Gaming officials are providing additional support to help Arizonans deal with the financial consequences of gambling issues, as the number of people who have banned themselves from participating in wagering activities has reached a new high.
The Arizona State Department of Gaming Division of Problem Gambling launched a new initiative that provides free financial counseling to Arizonans who self-excluded themselves from the state’s casino and sportsbook operations.
A total of 651 Arizonans have excluded themselves from gaming (for either one year, five years, or ten years). Free financial counseling was previously limited to those enrolled in treatment-assistance programs within the state.
