Cedar Crossing Casino opens next month in Linn County. The Area Substance Abuse Council said it has been working with casino staff to help them recognize the signs of gambling addiction.

The Area Substance Abuse Council helps people who are addicted to gambling and says there are signs that can point to a problem.

“Feeling irritable, defensive when people may be asking questions about your gambling. Being secretive and starting to hide your gambling behaviors. Those are all signs and symptoms,” said Kristin Norfolk, director of prevention at the Area Substance Abuse Council.
