The leaders of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas and Naskila Casino broke ground Thursday on the future Naskila Casino Resort and Hotel to be built north of Livingston.

The new casino not only marks a move from the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation between Woodville and Livingston but also a plan to open a major gambling resort to include a 366 room complete with a large pool, restaurants, bars and even conference and entertainment facilities.

The new facility will be built on a large 95 acre tract of land on US Highway 59 in the small community of Leggett which is about 9 miles north of Livingston.
