Last week, I made the three-hour trip from New Orleans to Kinder, Louisiana, to visit Coushatta Casino. I hadn’t been there in over a year and was eager to check out all of the recent renovations.
The new eight-story Legacy Tower, with over 200 guest rooms, is hard to miss when entering the parking lot. It adds a dramatic impression before you even set foot into the property and definitely set the tone for what was to come.
Walking into the lobby, I was blown away. I didn’t recognize it at all! It has been completely transformed from floor to ceiling. My favorite aspect of the new design is the wood-paneled ceilings. They are stunning!
Once I got checked in, I was excited to see my room. Thankfully, I was able to get booked into a king room in the new Legacy Tower. The room felt spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Comfortable bedding, upscale finishes, and practical amenities, like a microwave and refrigerator, made it easy to unwind after a long day on the casino floor.
Speaking of the casino floor, one of the things I’ve always appreciated about Coushatta Casino is its vast selection of slots, table games, and video poker. With more than 2,000 machines and 55 table games, I can find something to keep me occupied.
Of course, no casino getaway is complete without a great meal, so I made a reservation at the newly renovated Big Sky Steakhouse. The refreshed space feels sophisticated yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a special dinner or simply treating yourself after a day of gaming. The meal and service were both excellent. The fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat and crawfish tails were my favorite and are not to be missed. You’re welcome.
Between the new Legacy Tower and other property-wide enhancements, Coushatta feels refreshed and ready for its next chapter. If it’s been a while since your last visit, now is a great time to take another look.
