City Council is set to vote Wednesday night on whether the city should start negotiations with MGM Resorts International over a proposed housing development near Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, as well as on a long-term tax break to help make it possible.
The agenda for the 5 p.m. council meeting includes a resolution authorizing the city to begin negotiations with Mac Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM Resorts International.
As many as 1,800 housing units could be built as part of the project.
MGM owns Borgata, the MGM Tower and an expanse of vacant land between Borgata and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.
