On Friday, it became clear that the opposition to the potential for a casino to come to Fairfax County was more widespread than the several community groups who have vocalized their concerns. At a meeting, nearly all of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Legislative Committee supervisors expressed frustrations with the process of the proposal. Every attending member of the board shared concerns, ranging from the finances of the deal to the lack of involvement from local officials.

“I have a lot of concern,” Supervisor Dalia Palchik said.

“It’s a really bad financial deal,” Chair Jeff McKay said.

“Don’t let anybody tell you that the bill in its current form is about getting more money to Fairfax County,” said Supervisor Jimmy Bierman.
