Konami Gaming and Australian casino operator Star Entertainment Group Tuesday announced the extension and expansion of a partnership. Star Entertainment Group will continue to use Konami’s Synkros casino management system at its properties, including The Star Sydney, The Star Gold Coast, and The Star Brisbane
“Our collaboration has yielded outstanding results over the years, and this extension will help us deliver significant advancements in our ongoing commitment to responsible gaming and harm minimization,” said Star Entertainment Group Managing Director and CEO Robbie Crooke in a statement.
The renewed partnership will feature a range of Synkros’ tech innovations, including a cashless wagering/digital wallet; mandatory card-based play; enhanced identity management using Konami’s facial recognition technology, Synk Vision; and digitalization of current gaming offerings.
The partnership also will keep abreast of emerging and future casino technologies through shared efforts and initiatives.
“In partnership with Star Entertainment Group, we at Konami are excited to leverage the future technology development from this partnership, expanding offerings within Synkros to the wider market,” said Konami Australia Systems Sales and Operations Manager–APAC, Joe Mayer.
The partnership also will focus on deeper engagements with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions in Australia.
“SYNKROS will not only provide our core cashless gaming solution but also enable the Star in delivering world-class harm minimization features,” said Star Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer Laurent Fresnel. “We have a long-standing technology partnership with Konami and this commitment further reinforces our shared vision of the casino of the future.”
