Southland Casino Hotel in West Memphis, Arkansas, in collaboration with parent company Delaware North, recently announced a $22,641 gift to the Dorothy Day House.

Funds were raised during the casino’s recent Game Changer campaign, a program in which casino guests can drop off and gift the change remaining from slot vouchers at wishing wells on the casino floor. Since 2020, the program has raised nearly $500,000 for charitable organizations in West Memphis, Crittenden County, and Memphis, Tennessee.

The Dorothy Day House was selected as the recipient of funds from the campaign, which ran from June 1 to August 31. Southland Casino Hotel President and General Manager Osi Imomoh presented a check to Dorothy Dave House Director of Development and Communications Megan Banaszek on Monday.

During its 18 years of service in the Memphis community, the Dorothy Day House has provided temporary housing to families experiencing houselessness, along with resources that include childcare assistance, nutritious food access, transportation support, benefit enrollment assistance, and life skills classes.

The Dorothy Day House creates a safe environment for families in need, empowering them to regain independence and establish lasting stability.
