Casino Del Sol Monday announced that two employees who completed its Executive Career Ladder Program have been promoted. “Both Lesah and Miguel have shown strong leadership and people skills, the ability to manage and improve operations, and analytical skills,” said Casino Del Sol CEO Kimberly Van Amburg in a statement. “Instead of one of them being promoted, we decided to create dual general-manager positions, with each leading different operations and departments. They are going to be great additions to our leadership team. Their achievements reflect their pursuit of excellence, dedication to providing exceptional guest service, and their commitment to the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.”

The Executive Career Ladder Program is available to Pascua Yaqui Tribal members who work at Casino Del Sol. Through its Tribal Development Department, Casino Del Sol provides initiatives that offer professional development, comprehensive support, and resources.

Escamilla and Sesma-Gay completed training that focused on casino operations, strategic management, financial planning and analysis, and guest relations, while receiving mentorship and executive coaching.

“The Executive Career Ladder Program has been an incredible journey and I’m honored to have completed it,” said Escamilla, who has been a Casino Del Sol team member for 29 years. “I am grateful for the opportunities provided by Casino Del Sol to enhance my skills and knowledge. As general manager, I am excited to contribute to the continued growth and success of these exceptional properties.”

Sesma-Gay, who has more than 11 years of service at Casino Del Sol, said that completing the program and being promoted to general manager “is a true milestone in my career. I am honored to have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the guest experiences at Casino Del Sol. With my passion for creating unforgettable moments, I am determined to elevate this resort to even greater levels of excellence.”
