GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – State authorities are raiding electronic bingo operations in Jefferson County.

Media outlets report that the raids are being conducted Tuesday at three bingo halls in Brighton and Graysville.

The attorney general’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Attorney General Steve Marshall has previously said that state law is “crystal clear” that slot machines and electronic bingo operations are illegal.

Marshall has said his office will step in to take action against bingo halls if local authorities do not.
