Wyoming had sports betting handle of more than $22.8 million in September, a more than 18 percent increase year-on-year and a more than 87 percent jump over August,  the Wyoming Gaming Commission has reported.

Operators took home revenues of more than $2.9 million from this sports betting handle, with the state collecting just less than $145,000 in taxes. The market is  benefiting from the launch of Fanatics Sportsbook this year.

Meanwhile, skill-based amusement games collected more than $12.4 million in revenues, paying out more than $9.3 million to players, to leave operators with proceeds of nearly $3.1 million. The Wyoming Gaming Commission applies a 20 percent tax to skill-based amusement game proceeds, collecting almost $620,000 in taxes in September.

Only one of Wyoming’s three race tracks saw live action in September, with Wyoming Horse Racing LLC handling nearly $155,000. All three race courses supported simulcast racing, handling a total of more than $290,000. Wyoming Downs posted the most significant simulcast handle of almost $126,000. Wyoming Horse Racing LLC and 307 Horse Racing handled more than $121,000 and more than $43,000, respectively.
