LAS VEGAS (AP) — Casino mogul Steve Wynn says he and his staff are excited to host the first Democratic presidential debate of the campaign at the Wynn resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
“The staff of Wynn Resorts is comprised of more than 25,000 employees and their families,” Wynn said in a statement. “Ours is a team of great diversity, representing every race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and political philosophy. To have the privilege of being intimately involved in the American political process by hosting this debate is a moment of great pride and excitement for all of us.”
CNN and the Democratic National Committee are scheduling the debate on Oct. 13. It’s the first of six planned matchups.
Wynn owns the luxury high-rise Wynn Las Vegas and Encore resorts, as well as two hotel towers in Macau.
