Washington: Angel of the Winds Casino strikes partnership with Seattle Storm

Angel of the Winds Casino Resort announced Friday a deal with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm to become the team’s exclusive casino partner.

Located in Arlington, Washington, and owned by the Stillaguamish Tribe, the casino also has owns naming rights to the Storm’s home venue, Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington.

“This opportunity is a great example of the kind of partnership the Stillaguamish Tribe and Angel of the Winds Casino Resort is looking for to support the region,” said of Angel of the Winds Casino Resort General Manager Travis O’Neil in a statement. “From the opening of Angel of the Winds sixteen years ago, the Stillaguamish Tribe has committed to reinvesting in the local community and strengthening our area.”

The agreement gives the casino branding rights at Storm home games for both team benches, at center court, and on both hoops. Angel of the Winds also will present the Player of the Game promotion on Storm social media channels after each game. The multiyear agreement will also include branding opportunities when the team moves to the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle in 2022.

Seattle has won four WNBA championships, the most recent in 2020.
