UAE: Casino Countdown conference announces global guest speakers

Casino Countdown, the first Arabian business conference to focus solely on the gaming industry, will take place on Jan. 25, 2024, at the Atlantis, The Royal, in the United Arab Emirates.

Information on Alex Dixon’s panel at the Casino Countdown

Experts scheduled to appear include Debra Nutton, who has worked in executive roles for MGM Resorts and Wynn Resorts. Nutton is slated to give a keynote speech on gaming industry opportunities and challenges.

Also appearing is Alex Dixon, president and CEO of Q Casino in Dubuque, Iowa. Dixon has worked for MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and Goldman Sachs & Company. Dixon will speak about the complexity of the gaming landscape, and outline an investment model and prospects for potential operators.

Former Macau Gaming Commission senior legal adviser Antonio Lobo Vilela will also be a guest speaker.

The United Arab Emirates will get its first casino in 2027 when Wynn Resorts plans to open its $3.9 billion resort-casino on Al Marjan Island. Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings said during the company’s 3rd quarter earning call that the company is expecting to be alone in the market for a few years and that the UAE is “the most exciting new market opening in decades.”
