“I was actually down to my last hand when I put down a $15 bet and $5 on the progressive circle.”

Gomez triggered the jackpot on the all-new Light & Wonder King of Cards table-game progressive at Lone Butte, which links 75  table games at all three Gila River casinos. It’s the largest table-game progressive jackpot in the state.

“I’m so happy for Luis,” said Kenneth Manuel, CEO of Gila River Resorts & Casinos. “When we installed the new King of Cards progressive, this is exactly the win we hoped to have.”

Gomez plans to buy his parents a new house, along with a new car for himself and members of his family.

The King of Cards progressive resets to $1 million.
