Stephen Thayer named new GM of Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas

The San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority Monday introduced Stephen Thayer as the general manager of Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Thayer begins his new role on September 16 and will be responsible for overseeing all operations of Palms Casino Resort under the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority, the gaming arm of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.

“We are delighted to welcome Stephen to Palms,” said SMGHA Chairperson Latisha Prieto in a statement. “His leadership style and professional accomplishments speak volumes about his ability to lead and innovate and his enthusiasm for activating on our tribal values at Palms make him the ideal candidate to guide this wonderful property into the next chapter.”

Thayer was most recently the general manager of Strat Hotel Casino & Tower in Las Vegas, where he was responsible for property enhancements, renovations, and elevating the service culture.

He previously was in hotel operations for Caesars Entertainment in both Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Creating and fostering a sense of community is at the forefront of Palms culture and I am eager to contribute to that vision.”
